Articulation Officer and Assistant Professor, Counseling

The successful candidate for this full-time, tenure track Articulation Officer and Assistant Professor, Counseling position will provide articulation and counseling services under the direct supervision of the Manager, Counseling and Advising.

Position responsibilities include coordinating and managing articulation agreements between the college and four-year institutions, ensuring compliance with California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office regulations, and supporting curriculum development that facilitates student transfer and degree completion. Responsibilities also include providing academic, career, and personal counseling services to students to help them determine and achieve their academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Articulation responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide consultative support to faculty in the curriculum development and review process leading to course acceptance for transfer between College of the Redwoods (CR) and other academic institutions
• Develop, maintain, and evaluate comprehensive articulation agreements with the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems, private universities and colleges in California, and out-of-state institutions
• Submit and maintain accurate course data to manage course articulations using ASSIST, C-, TES, and other related statewide systems
• Coordinate submission of courses and programs for California General Education Transfer Curriculum (CalGETC) certification
• Maintain current expertise in California Community College articulation, transfer, and curriculum practices through participation in statewide professional development, including the California Intersegmental Articulation Council (CIAC) and the California Community Colleges Curriculum Institute
• Contributes to the District’s Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) work by providing articulation review and faculty assistance, when required, of student requests for credit based on prior learning, including project-based learning
• Serves on the Academic Senate Curriculum Committee and as a District representative at local and state articulation and transfer meetings (including CIAC)
• Maintains articulation files/documentation to assure compliance with all regulations that govern intersegmental articulation of curriculum for transfer purposes
• Maintains, revises, and produces annual general education worksheets and AP/IB exam scores chart for course catalog requirements
• Additional professional assignments include participation in faculty/college committees, curriculum and program development, and related duties as required or assigned

Counseling responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide students with presentations, workshops, career and educational goal setting, educational planning, and ongoing follow-up services
• Provide students with assistance in assessing abilities, aptitudes, interests, work values systems, and personality patterns related to occupations and careers
• Participate in department meetings and work groups that develop, evaluate and deliver services that support student success
• Assist in the planning and implementation of orientation and outreach activities
• Maintain current knowledge of counseling practices, methods, and techniques
• Proficient use of computers, common software, and related educational and curriculum technologies
• Develop and review of curriculum as well as including assessment of learning
• Refer students to appropriate campus and community resources and services
• Provide brief individual counseling and crisis intervention support to assist students in resolving personal problems
• Accept referrals from teaching faculty and other college personnel
