Junior Engineering Technician
The incumbent works under the close supervision of a Senior Transportation Surveyor. The incumbent will function as an entry level trainee. He or she will learn and perform the most routine, sub-professional survey related duties in a Survey or Right of Way Engineering office environment.
The incumbent will perform Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) delineation for the preparation of various types of right of way engineering mapping including base maps, acquisition (right-of-way) maps, monumentation maps, exhibit maps, and resolution of necessity plats at the direction of the Transportation Surveyor or lead person using current Right of Way Engineering mapping standards.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Junior Engineering Technician exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
