Park Interpretive Specialist (Seasonal) – North Coast Redwoods District
Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub.

The reporting location will be Fort Humboldt State Historical Park under the supervision of Museum Curator II. The North Coast Redwoods District Cultural Resource Management Program will be hiring Multiple Park Interpretive Specialists (Seasonal) to assist with preservation and conservation programs, which include research, identification, cataloging, inventory and photographing historic objects and artifacts in the North Coast Redwood District collections.
Duties will necessitate travel throughout the District. Work well as an individual and in a multi-disciplinary team setting. Be flexible and open-minded. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Typical work activities may involve frequent periods of standing, bending, walking, and some lifting.
This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment. This position requires a valid Class C driver's license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver's license on your application.
