Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active CA RN license and 1+ years of ER experience.

Details
  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified hospital treating shock/trauma cases
  • Department has 20-26 beds/rooms with an average daily census of 105 and approximately 135 visits per day
  • Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
  • Floating required to cover the Observation Unit (ER Hold patients) and may include affiliate hospitals nearby
  • No on-call requirements
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
  • Minimum of 1 year of ER experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
  • ENPC certification preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with pediatric and adult ER patient populations
  • Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a broad range of conditions including trauma, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and orthopedic cases
  • Responsibilities may include management of ventilated patients, chest tube insertion/management, procedural sedation, and administration of emergency medications and vasopressors
  • May care for patients presenting with gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, CVA, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
  • Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays:
    Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day
  • RTO restricted to no more than 7 days
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates within the radius may be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
  • Scrubs may be self-provided but must not have prints
