Registered Nurse - Observation Unit
This is a 13-week contract position.
Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 18:00).
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Observation Unit. The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals who are held in the ER for observation. This position requires a strong foundation of clinical skills to manage a range of acute medical conditions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care to patients in the Observation Unit.
- Monitor patient vitals and manage treatment protocols.
- Administer medications and perform necessary clinical procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Evaluate patient conditions and document care outcomes in electronic health records.
- Assist patients with any physical or emotional needs during their stay.
- Registered Nurse license in California (valid and in hand).
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC certifications preferred.
- 1 year of nursing experience required; charge nurse experience preferred.
- Experience with Epic charting system is advantageous.
- Comfortable floating between units as needed.
- Daily census of 105 patients.
- 20 rooms with 26 beds available in the unit.
- Expected to manage a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 4:1.
