Travel RN - Operating Room - Outpatient Surgery​/Same Day Surgery

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient Surgery position requiring an active CA RN license and at least 2 years of OR experience.

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in outpatient surgery/OR setting
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Experience with a wide range of surgical cases including cardiac, ortho, neuro, GI, GYN, and ENT preferred
• Experience with pre/post-operative patient care, IV therapy, and central line management required
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must provide full SSN and DOB for compliance purposes

  -based Outpatient Surgery unit setting
• Day shift schedule with 2x12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM
• Potential for additional shifts as needed
• Patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:4
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Provide direct nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after outpatient procedures
• Perform pre-op assessments, patient education, and discharge instructions
• Manage IV therapy, central lines, and blood product administration as needed
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize/manage dysrhythmias
• Assist with a variety of surgical specialties including cardiac, ortho, neuro, GYN, and ENT procedures
• First-time travelers may be considered if they have at least 2 years of experience
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays:
  Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius are accepted at a lower bill rate
• Travelers should expect to float between sister facilities as needed
