American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details- PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown setting with cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient populations
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts
- Requires floating between sister facilities within the region
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Epic EMR experience required (hard requirement)
- Stepdown or ICU experience required (hard requirement)
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
- Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration required)
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
- Must respond to disclosure question regarding prior employment at a Providence facility
- Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response on a telemetry unit
- Care for patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery
- Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and non-invasive airway support
- Experience with central line and PICC line care preferred
- Experience with blood product administration preferred
- Experience with heparin protocols and procedural sedation monitoring preferred
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the state
