American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license and at least 1 year of ER experience.
Details- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- STEMI and Stroke Certified facility handling shock/trauma cases
- Approximately 135 visits per day with 20-26 rooms/beds and an average daily census of 105
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
- Floating required to cover the Observation Unit, which houses ER Hold patients
- Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Preferred certification: ENPC
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Experience with 1:4 patient ratios preferred
- Skills in trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and shock/trauma management preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
- Pediatric emergency care experience preferred, including respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions, including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
- Perform triage and maintain isolation precautions/PPE protocols as needed
- May be required to float between sister facilities within the system
- Scrub color is flexible, but no printed scrubs are permitted
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day - RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
