TELECOM FIELD TECHNICIAN

The Telecom Field Technician will be based out of our California market and will be responsible for providing on-site client installation, repairs, and maintenance of their equipment. This position requires the individual to be prompt and reliable, have superior support skills and excellent communication. They should possess a demonstrated history of achieving high levels of client satisfaction and is motivated to provide superior service.
Responsibilities- Responsible for all network field activity on Vero Broadband network.
- Install and test new customer services in residential or business locations.
- Fiber splicing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network outages and issues.
- Perform job responsibilities outdoors in different weather conditions (e.g., extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather).
- Climb and work at elevations exceeding 18 feet.
- Read and interpret Network Diagrams and/or detailed instructions.
- Operate a company vehicle in accordance with safe driving practices.
- Work with Engineering, Technical Support, and Service Delivery to complete installations and service calls.
- Provide excellent customer service.

- Experience with installing and handling various fiber optic cable types including single mode and multimode.
- Willingness to work in confined spaces, if necessary.
- Keen attention to detail and adherence to established standards.
- Powerful sense of accountability for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Openness and availability to work flexible long hours based on project requirements.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and can carry a ladder.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Two years of Fiber Optic and Cat6 Cable Installation experience.
- Experience configuring wireless equipment such as Ubiquiti, Cambium and Nokia.
Physical Requirements
- Requires extensive travel with the ability to travel to various locations to perform job duties. Travel schedules may be predictable or variable depending on project needs, including short, long or extended trips.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to pass a background check and MVR screen.
- This is a nonexempt, full-time staff position located in California markets.
- The schedule is variable and may require night or weekend availability as needed.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various extreme weather conditions, such as extreme heat or cold, rain or snow.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb on uneven surfaces and ladders for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment or materials up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and telehandlers.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
- Must be able to crouch and stand in narrow spaces to operate machinery or manufacturing machines.
