Parts Storekeeper
This position is responsible for a variety of duties, including:
- Planning, scheduling, assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of employees engaged in parts storekeeper duties; coordinating activities with those of other departments; responding to inquiries from vendors and others.
- Providing input into selection decisions, performance evaluations, disciplinary matters, and other personnel decisions.
- Ordering, receiving, and maintaining equipment parts, accessories, supplies, and special tools to be used in the maintenance, service, and repair of the County's vehicles and equipment.
- Issuing and distributing parts and supplies; determining availability of parts and estimating delivery time; receiving and filling requisitions for specialized orders.
- Maintaining and utilizing ongoing listings of purchase orders; arranging and coordinating pick-up and delivery of orders; maintaining contact with inventory suppliers and vendors.
- Keeping adequate supply of hand tools and safety supplies used for road maintenance and construction.
- Warehouse inventory control and accuracy experience.
- Data entry experience with knowledge of proper state and local taxation.
- Ability to multitask with fine details.

This position is represented by the AFSCME bargaining unit.
Under general supervision, assigns, directs, and reviews the work of a small staff; participates in ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, controlling, and maintaining an adequate inventory of equipment parts, supplies, accessories, and related tools and equipment; performs related work as assigned.
This is the working lead level class in the Parts Storekeeper series. The incumbent performs the full range of assigned duties specifically related to vehicles and equipment parts and supplies, in addition to providing work direction, training, and review to a small staff performing similar work.
This class is distinguished from Equipment Superintendent in that the latter has supervisory responsibility for the auto and equipment repair shops in addition to parts and supplies.
