Position SummaryResponsible for managing ECTV (online) television station and related digital content at Eureka College. This position is responsible for operation and maintenance of the electronic equipment and broadcast schedule; production of revenue from student enrollment and sponsor ships; management of operating budget of the stations; oversight of policies, regulations and procedures for the stations.
Essential FunctionsTeach and coordinate activities of students to produce relevant content and to operate consoles.
Teach and coordinate activities of students to write, read, and speak scripted materials.
Teach students to operate television, video, or film camera to record images or scenes for television, video, or film productions.
Establish and enforce policies, regulations and procedures for the relevant platforms.
Manage the daily operations and budget of the digital platforms.
Coordinate repairs and updates to all equipment and related software.
Set up, operate, and maintain the electronic equipment used to acquire, edit, and transmit audio and video for content platforms.
Coordinate and collaborate with campus areas to create and offer summer camps and/or rent studios over the summer.
Supervise live productions, including during evenings and weekends.
Coordinate revenue generation activities through the sale of underwriting messages.
Coordinate a robust student recruitment effort by developing connections with local, regional, and national high schools with radio and television curricula.
Coordinate college wide music licensing agreements.
Engage with statewide and national collegiate broadcasting organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
- Knowledge of techniques and operations for television broadcasting and digital services, programming, marketing, facilities, and equipment.
- Ability to maintain, develop, and/or modify systems, techniques, and procedures for the scheduling of broadcast programming and digital services.
- Knowledge of current and developing trends in broadcast and digital technologies, methodologies, and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Knowledge of budget preparation, cost estimating, monitoring, and fiscal management principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies, processes, and available resources.
