Job Summary

We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Housekeeping Aide. The Housekeeping Aide performs a variety of general housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain the facility in a sanitary, safe, attractive, and orderly condition for residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and dress code
  • Complete assigned daily cleaning schedules
  • Maintain a warm, calm, and positive environment throughout the facility
  • Participate in required in-service education programs
  • Maintain housekeeping carts with adequate supplies to complete assigned duties
  • Properly label all chemicals according to SDS requirements and replace worn labels
  • Use approved cleaning supplies at correct dilution ratios
  • Keep restricted areas locked at all times
  • Inspect windows, furniture, fixtures, and equipment for proper operation and report maintenance needs
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures
  • Practice proper infection control and universal precautions
  • Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags as needed
  • Report accidents and incidents promptly to the supervisor
  • Attend staff meetings as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary
  • Ability to work tactfully with residents, families, visitors, staff, and the public
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others
  • Patient, cheerful, and professional demeanor
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Ability to manage the mental and emotional demands of the position
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility and integrity
  • Ability to work with ill, disabled, and emotionally upset individuals
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
