Maintenance Technician

Drax is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support safe, reliable operation of our renewable energy and biomass facilities. In this role, you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems for pellet production and power assets. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment such as conveyors, motors, pumps, and process controls, following safety and environmental standards. Collaborating with operations and engineering, you'll document work in a CMMS, support root-cause analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement across our low carbon energy sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment such as conveyors, motors, pumps, and process controls
• Conduct inspections and condition monitoring to prevent unplanned downtime
• Follow all safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout procedures
• Use CMMS to plan, record, and close maintenance work orders
• Collaborate with operations and engineering on equipment reliability and improvements
• Support root-cause analysis for recurring equipment failures
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new or upgraded equipment
• Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in a safe, organized condition
• Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across sites
