Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Drax is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support safe, reliable operation of our renewable biomass and power generation assets. You'll install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, control circuits, motors, variable frequency drives, and instrumentation used in power and biomass processing. Responsibilities include performing preventive and predictive maintenance, calibrating sensors and transmitters, reading electrical and P&, and supporting commissioning and outages.

You'll collaborate with operations and engineering teams, follow strict safety and environmental standards, and help drive continuous improvement in a low carbon energy facility.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation equipment in biomass and power generation facilities
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on motors, drives, control circuits, and instrumentation
• Calibrate and verify sensors, transmitters, and control devices to ensure accurate process measurements
• Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and P& to support maintenance and projects
• Support commissioning, start-ups, and planned outages with E&I expertise
• Follow and promote strict safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout procedures
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to resolve equipment and process issues
• Document maintenance activities, test results, and parts usage in the CMMS
