Job Description
Aims Community College seeks a part‑time faculty member to teach automotive collision technology courses. The instructor will conduct assignments and co‑curricular activities in line with the College’s mission and values.
Compensation ranges from $1,297.00 per credit to $3,753.00 per credit. For low enrollment, pay may be pro‑rated based on a 10% per student basis. Part‑time employees receive benefits depending on the number of hours worked.
Responsibilities- Teach automotive collision technology courses, including a variety of courses based on the instructor’s area of expertise.
- Deliver day and/or evening classes at the Windsor campus and/or other assigned locations.
- Develop test banks, build course materials, and operate automotive service industry equipment.
- Work with multiple students simultaneously during stacked class block schedules.
- Associate’s degree in Automotive Service Technology or a related area and at least 4,000 hours of relevant work experience, OR a current industry license/certification and at least 6,000 hours of relevant experience.
- Ford Master Technician certification or the ability to obtain it prior to the first day.
- Full and current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in A1–A8 specialties; ASE G1 certification prior to the first day; ASE L1 certification within the first year and compliance with ASE educational Foundation/NATEF standards.
- Hold or qualify for a post‑secondary vocational credential in Automotive issued by the Aims Community College CTE Office.
- Demonstrated commitment to high standards of work performance, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
- Proficient with personal computers and automotive service repair and instruction systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Previous college teaching experience.
