Adjunct Faculty: Astronomy & Physics

Job Description

Teach day and/or evening classes at Greeley campus or satellite campuses in Loveland and Fort Lupton.

• Instruct assignments which may include a variety of courses in Astronomy, Geology, or Physics depending on the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Participate in ongoing professional development.
• Work collaboratively with full‑time faculty that are course captains for the courses assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and the Academic Dean.

• Master’s degree in astronomy, physics, astrophysics, engineering, or a closely related discipline. The master’s degree must show at least 12 credit hours in content‑specific graduate‑level courses.
• Alternatively, a master’s degree including 18 graduate‑level credit hours in astronomy and/or physics, with no more than six of those credit hours being general science courses.

• Previous college teaching experience.

Based on course content, wages will range from $1,297.00 per credit to $3,753.00 per credit. In certain instances, due to low enrollment, faculty payment will be based on part‑time per‑credit pay, pro‑rated on a 10% per student basis.

Part‑time employees also receive some benefits depending on the number of hours worked.
