Minimum Hiring Annual Salary: $51,856.00 —
Maximum Hiring Annual Salary: $72,250.00 (placement is based on education and experience). This position also offers an additional annual stipend ranging from $4,373.40 to $6,093.37, subject to renewal and not included in base salary.

The full‑time Automotive Faculty position is a collaborative role between Aims Community College and Weld RE‑4 School District. The instructor will be based at Severance High School, developing and teaching a two‑year Diesel Program in a high‑school setting. Duties include classroom instruction, student advising, curriculum development, program administration, and equipment management. The role requires on‑site presence five days a week with occasional evening, weekend, or after‑school sessions.
ResponsibilitiesThe primary purpose of this faculty member is to teach. In addition to instructional duties, the instructor will:
- Participate in recruiting, retention, and advising activities for Occupational Certificates and AAS Degree Programs.
- Develop or modify curriculum to align with emerging automotive technology.
- Assist the program director with daily operations, including acquisition, repair, and maintenance of program equipment.
- Attend department, program, division, and college meetings; comply with ASE, NATEF, and college policies.
- Acquire and track 40 hours of yearly professional development in technical automotive service.
- Coordinate with partner organizations, manufacturer trainings, and industry certifications.
- Manage student interactions, tours, SkillsUSA events, and the annual Aims Automotive Car Show.
- Handle inventory, maintenance, repair, and disposal of instructional fleet vehicles.
- Teach stacked or multiple classes concurrently and maintain accurate records and attendance.
- Implement program rules, regulations, and operating practices.
- Interact with students to facilitate learning.
- Deliver clear, engaging instruction in both in‑person and online formats.
- Design, sequence, implement, and assess learning experiences.
- Collaborate on diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments.
- Provide high‑quality instruction and apply student‑centered practices.
- Create diverse learning activities aligned with defined outcomes.
- Use assessment data to improve instruction, participate in college‑wide teaching dialogue.
- Develop and refine departmental curriculum.
- Adopt new teaching methodologies and technology.
- Implement departmental and institutional goals.
- Maintain office hours, turn in grades on time, keep attendance records.
- Submit required course documentation on schedule.
- Manage classroom facilities.
- Meet other professional obligations as outlined in the Faculty Annual Plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Engage in activities that promote the discovery and application of knowledge.
- Acquire and maintain certifications.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and training.
- Complete related coursework.
- Create teaching methodology and instructional design.
- Contribute to college mission and strategic planning.
- Provide advising for students pursuing AAS, AS, and AA Degrees.
- Fulfill service requirements through campus and community activities.
- Participate in recruitment, evaluation of textbooks, curricular review.
- Serve on committees and maintain labs.

- Associate's Degree in a related field (e.g., Diesel Power Mechanics) or ability to obtain this degree within 2½ years.
