Experience:
AA degree or 48 semester hours or passing scores on Work Keys exam - Preferred Education/

Summary/Objective: Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation. Responsible to the building principal and department director where assigned.
Essential Job Functions- Support academic programming and progress of individual students and/or small groups with identified significant needs.
- Provide student‑specific personal care and support.
- Assist with daily classroom activities, data collection, sanitizing equipment and materials, and providing support to staff.
- Ability to sit for long periods; manage multiple distractions; maintain visual, auditory, ambulatory acuity.
- Move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs; upper body strength to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Applicant must have knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to perform the function. Must be able to provide student‑specific personal care support. Prior experience in school setting or with children with special needs. Strong verbal communication; ability to move quickly; teamwork orientation; positive attitude; upper body strength to lift 50 lbs. Paraprofessional experience preferred. Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
