SCHEDULEHours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, from June 1 – August 12, 2026. Camp dates are June 8 – August 9, 2026.
DESCRIPTIONResponsible for the supervision and safety of children ages 8‑13 and the basic instruction; including planning and leading of enrichment activities and games. Responsible for the supervision of counselors, assistant counselors, and volunteers and for communicating with the Program Coordinator regarding these individuals.
JOB SUMMARY- Attend mandatory staff training sessions, including camp director training on Saturday, May 23, or complete the online training no later than June 1, 2026.
- Plan and instruct program activities and games for camp participants relating to the camp theme.
- Responsible for the safety of individuals in camp.
- Supervise and lead participants in daily camp activities and field trips.
- Assist in the management and evaluation of counselors, volunteers, and assistant counselors.
- Communicate effectively with caregivers regarding participant progress and behavior within the program setting.
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled by the Program Coordinator.
- Enforce late pick‑up policy and ensure all participants are properly dismissed to caregivers.
- Maintain camp equipment and storage areas.
- Complete written reports such as accident, incident, and camper behavior reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain all camp paperwork.
- Communicate to supervisors if there are problems or issues needing special attention.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
- Bachelor’s degree or working toward a Bachelor’s in Education or related discipline.
- Experience working with children.
- At least one year of experience working in a camp setting.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to apply common sense and understand instructions.
- Ability to read staff manuals, memos, and attendance sheets.
- Ability to complete attendance sheets, accident reports, incident reports, and camper behavior reports using prescribed format.
- Ability to give verbal direction to subordinates and communicate effectively with co‑workers, supervisors, citizens, and the public.
- Physical demand: capable of exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. Physical demands exceed those for sedentary work.
