Summer Voyagers Assistant Camp Director – 2026

Starting at $18.75/hour
ScheduleHours are 9 am–5 pm Monday through Friday, from June 1 – August 12, 2026. Camp dates are June 8 – August 9, 2026.
Responsibilities- Attend mandatory staff training sessions
- Assist in planning and instructing program activities and games for camp participants relating to the camp theme
- Ensure the safety of individuals in camp
- Assist in supervising and leading participants in daily camp activities
- Assist in the management and evaluation of counselors, volunteers, and assistant counselors
- Communicate effectively with caregivers regarding participant progress and behavior within the program setting
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled by the Program Coordinator
- Enforce late pick‑up policy and ensure all participants are properly dismissed to caregivers
- Maintain camp equipment and storage areas
- Assist in completing written reports, such as accident and incident reports, on a timely basis
- Maintain all camp documentation and paperwork
- Notify supervisors of any problems or issues needing special attention
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator & Camp Director
- Experience working with children
- At least 1 year of experience working in a camp setting
- High school diploma or GED
- First Aid/CPR certified or able to obtain prior to start date
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to read staff manuals, memos, and attendance sheets
- Ability to complete attendance sheets, accident reports, incident reports and camper behavior reports using prescribed format
- Ability to give verbal direction to subordinates, communicate effectively with co‑workers, supervisors, citizens, and the public as well as other employees
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work.
