Caregiver general summary:
Responsible for assisting residents in their daily living routines. Duties are performed under the indirect supervision of the nurse or supervisor, following established procedures and guidelines.
Responsible for assisted daily living duties, including transferring, mobility, bathing, changing briefs, peri‑care, toileting, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, changing bed linens, etc. Physically ensures residents attend appointments such as salons, transportation, activities, and meals—pushing wheelchairs, walking with walkers, and monitoring schedules. Documents communications, shift summaries, and care notes.
Physical Demands- Ability to walk, stand, bend, reach, stoop or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects or people weighing more than 50 lbs.
- Work for sustained periods maintaining concentrated attention to safety, detail, and accuracy.
- Annual flu vaccine, excluding religious or medical exemptions.
- Reliable and dependable with attendance and punctuality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions without supervision.
- Ability to interact tactfully with residents, family members, team members, and the general public.
- Ability to make decisions in stressful situations.
- Ability to communicate directions to all levels of team members, both in writing and verbally.
- Good character and displays a high degree of personal integrity.
- Displays sincere compassion toward cognitively impaired older adults.
- Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families.
