• Provide support functions within Materials Management/Supply Chain departments, assisting requisitioners and hospital staff in procurement of goods and services for internal and external customers.
• Identify, research, analyze and resolve purchasing issues with other departments and suppliers.
• Communicate with department managers regarding discrepancies, pricing, substitutes and backorders.
• Confirm purchase orders (PO) with outside vendors and follow up on problem orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Work with Receiving and Accounting on problematic materials or transactions.
• Continuously monitor delivery expectations for all incoming materials and communicate delays to internal stakeholders.
• Work with suppliers to expedite and improve delivery performance.
• Review inventory order patterns and quantities.
• Maintain open communication and effective working relationships with all departments.
• Prioritize duties for optimum productivity and perform related duties as assigned.

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• AA Degree preferred
• Previous hospital purchasing experience preferred
• Minimum of one-year of general office experience
• Knowledge of equipment, supplies acquisition, policies & procedures
• Knowledge of computer-based inventory systems
• Ability to utilize Material Management Information System (MMIS) and EDI
• Strong written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels

The compensation range for this role is $22.70 to $32.88 per hour.
