Coordinator - Purchasing - BMSI Supply Chain SFIL

Responsibilities- Provide support functions within Materials Management/Supply Chain departments, assisting requisitioners and hospital staff in procurement of goods and services for internal and external customers.
- Identify, research, analyze and resolve purchasing issues with other departments and suppliers.
- Communicate with department managers regarding discrepancies, pricing, substitutes and backorders.
- Confirm purchase orders (PO) with outside vendors and follow up on problem orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Work with Receiving and Accounting on problematic materials or transactions.
- Continuously monitor delivery expectations for all incoming materials and communicate delays to internal stakeholders.
- Work with suppliers to expedite and improve delivery performance.
- Review inventory order patterns and quantities.
- Maintain open communication and effective working relationships with all departments.
- Prioritize duties for optimum productivity and perform related duties as assigned.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- AA Degree preferred
- Previous hospital purchasing experience preferred
- Minimum of one-year of general office experience
- Knowledge of equipment, supplies acquisition, policies & procedures
- Knowledge of computer-based inventory systems
- Ability to utilize Material Management Information System (MMIS) and EDI
- Strong written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels

The compensation range for this role is $22.70 to $32.88 per hour.
