Retail Merchandiser Floater (part-time) — Evanston, IL 60201 | Hallmark Cards
As a Retail Merchandiser Floater, you will work independently to showcase organization and time management skills, build retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark in stores. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels, and you may support seasonal resets and installations. On occasion you may work with products from other companies in the stores you service.
Salaryand Schedule
- Your starting pay will be between $15.90 and $16.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
- This is a part-time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
- Weekly hours are typically 15-20 hours per week.
- Availability the week before and after major holidays (which may include weekends) is required.
- Perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores (grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers).
- Restock, organize, and monitor the inventory of Hallmark products using a mobile device; communicate with supervisor; report time; provide feedback; complete required merchandising surveys; maintain Hallmark product displays at assigned stores.
- Holiday support: expect additional days and extended hours during seasonal periods (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas); may require work on actual holidays and weekends.
- Department resets: may be part of a team responsible for installations, building and relocating fixtures, and resetting card sections; remodel assignments are typically notified two weeks in advance and may occur during evenings or weekends.
- One Team Vision: work within Hallmark’s field network to support other merchandisers as needed in their territories.
This is a physically demanding role requiring energy and urgency. You will work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms and must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. You may need to kneel, squat, walk, stand, and climb stairs or ladders as part of the job.
Basic Qualifications- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to operate a digital hand-held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
- Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
- Access to reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
