Responsible for the supervision of swimming beach entrances and checking for valid admission passes/tickets.
SupervisionUnder the direct supervision of the Beach Office Manager and Program Coordinator.
Essential Function(s) – Task Statements- Responsible for the supervision of the admittance guidelines for entrance to swimming beaches, boat launches, and/or dog beach.
- Collect physical or digital daily passes and check season passes at the beach entrances.
- Sell daily tickets via a Clover device or direct patrons on how to buy passes through Amilia.
- Know and enforce all rules and regulations pertaining to the admittance to the beach and general Evanston Lakefront.
- Responsible for care and maintenance of gate attendant equipment including electronic payment devices.
- Attend staff training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled by supervisors and program coordinator.
- Responsible for effective and appropriate communication to patrons.
- Maintains a clean and safe beach environment.
- You must have the ability to work May 23-August 31, 2026 including weekends and afternoon/evening shifts once school begins. If you have after school commitments in the fall, this must be communicated before the start of the season.

TITLE: Gate Attendant (Lakefront) - Summer 2026
PAY RATE: $14.00/Hour
DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation
- Prerequisites for Applying: Must be 16 years of age or older;
Available to work from May 23 - September 7, 2026 - Perquisites for Employment: Pass both the Criminal and DCFS background checks;
Pass drug and alcohol screen;
Interview;
Up to 6 hours of staff training - Hours: Varies, weekdays and weekends up to 35 hrs/week from May 23-September 7, 2026. Must be able to work at least 3 days a week.
