• Water skills test
• CPR practical exam and interview
• Up to 40 hours of staff training
• Pre‑employment drug/alcohol test
• Rescue board test
• All written exams

• Know and enforce all rules and regulations pertaining to the Evanston Lakefront
• Use proper surveillance techniques to guard the swimming area
• Identify patrons in need of emergency assistance and respond appropriately
• Attend staff training sessions
• Assist in the management of the beaches
• Assist in the collection of monies and checking зимой tokens at the beach entrances
• Responsible for effective and appropriate communication to patrons
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled by lifeguard coordinator / Fire Department Command Staff
• Maintain a clean and safe beach environment
• Responsible for care and maintenance of equipment and storage areas
• Complete written reports such as accident, incident and the like on a timely basis
• Communicate to supervisor(s) if there are problems or issues needing special attention
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by beach managers, lifeguard supervisors, lifeguard coordinators, and Fire Department Command Staff

• Must have completed at1831 a year of high school
• Must possess a valid lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized institution, or be willing to obtain one beforeцей employment
• Must complete all preseason training
• Must be at least 16 years of age on the first day of employment

• Lifeguard Training – American Red Cross, Ellis or USLA
• CPR for the Professional – American Red Cross
• AED – American膽 Red Cross

Pay Scale Overview
: 1st year $18.50/hr; 2nd year $19.50/hr; 3rd year and above $20.50/hr
