Mechanical Technician – Marathon Pipe Line Company – Evanston, WY AreaThe Mechanical Technician position refines products executing Operations & Logistics for Marathon Pipe Line. The successful candidate will perform such duties as: repairing and maintaining API 6D valves, centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, tank equipment and meters. The candidate should have the ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently while collaborating with a team. All duties will be completed in accordance with all regulations in support of DOT, Environmental, Safety, and Regulatory compliance.
Travel, callouts, and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis.
The successful candidate will be required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location of Evanston, WY.
Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance activities including but not limited to the following tasks:
- Vibrating monitoring and analysis
- Inspect, install, and maintain major / minor relief valves
- Complex pump alignment
- Lubricant changes
- Install / repair stainless steel tubing
- DOT mainline inspections
- Flange bolting and assembly
- Valve actuator maintenance
- Maintaining bi-directional provers
- Coordinate and communicate maintenance activities.
- Respond to breakdown and field callouts as part of rotational on‑call support.
- Generate computerized work requests for maintenance tasks.
- Perform work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Associate’s degree in a related technical field is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Previous pipeline experience is highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to pass a general background check as well as a Motor Vehicle Background check.
- Must be able to pass a DOT Physical Exam.
