Job Overview

UTLX, a part of Marmon Holdings, is seeking a Car RepairmanI to work at our full‑service rail tank car repair shop in Evanston,WY.

• Weld components related to tank cars including tanks, bolsters, underframes, side sills, etc.
• Perform welded repairs using an air arc cutting torch and stick or wire welding equipment.
• Use hand tools and equipment to chip and grind weld, slag or spatter.
• Repair, straighten, remove, rework car parts, brakes, underframes, center plates, gears, couplers, valves, etc. using various hand and power tools.
• Perform welding and mechanical repairs to tank and hopper cars when required.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area and report potential hazards.

• Basic welding experience is a plus.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED or be willing to take a skills test.
• Demonstrate job‑related computational knowledge (e.g., be able to read a ruler).

• Moderate to heavy physical effort involved.
• Lifts and carries necessary equipment to the car to perform operation.
• Climbs, walks, and balances on top of the car while welding.
• Possibility of exposure to X‑ray radiation hazards.
• Must follow prescribed safety rules to avoid possible injury.
