Outside Sales Rep

We are looking for an experienced Building Materials Sales Rep to expand our reach into the region. You will be responsible for selling a wide variety of our building products through opportunity‑based sales. The Outside Sales Rep will manage designated territories and conduct physical visits to customer and contractor sites, reaching business targets and developing profitable, long‑term relationships with customers while maintaining professionalism, integrity, passion, and top‑shelf communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

Job Type: Full Time

Responsibilities
  • Ensure delivery of target sales by meeting with customers and maintaining relationships
  • Recommend service and product enhancements to improve sales potential
  • Analyze plans and trends to ensure best assignment of territories, clients, and service distribution
  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, participating in industry networks, and growing lasting client relationships
  • Establish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volumes and forecasting
  • Stay relevant with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand shifts, and product mix
  • Positively contribute to full sales and customer service teams
  • Document customer interactions and maintain data related to activities, accounts, and vendor partners
  • Develop and collaborate on long‑ and short‑term sales strategies
Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of outside sales or direct contractor sales experience in Building Materials (lumber, roofing, drywall, steel framing, windows preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and plan
  • World‑class customer service skills
  • Market experience and knowledge
  • Ability to recognize client needs and sell within the catalog of products
  • Budget development
  • Process and people management
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
