General DescriptionPerforms a variety of tasks in the maintenance of the Wyoming State Hospital. Performs a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and administrative areas. Also snow removal and watering of lawns. Repairs and adjusts the air and electrical equipment, using plumbing and carpentry skills. Performs preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Performs scheduled, preventive and emergency maintenance repairs on boiler systems/equipment, existing plumbing fixtures, fire suppression systems, and sprinkler heads.
- Installs new plumbing fixtures.
- Performs backflow tasks/duties including annual testing of backflow devices and cleaning of grease traps.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable codes and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains accurate records of preventive maintenance, service, replacement, and condition of water, gas and sewer systems.
- Researches, locates, and orders supplies, equipment, and tools necessary to carry out plumbing program functions.
- Contributes to preparing operational and personnel budget recommendations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preference will be given to applicants with general maintenance experience.
KNOWLEDGE- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials and practices of the plumbing trade.
- Knowledge of state and federal plumbing codes.
- Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
Education

Associate's Degree
Experience
: 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Plumbing)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution
: 2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Plumbing)

- Applicants must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- FLSA:
Non-Exempt - Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions. Drug testing will be completed on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
