Pacifi Corp seeks a Relay Technician Trainee to support safe, reliable electric service across its western U.S. grid. In this entry-level role, you'll assist with testing, calibrating and maintaining protective relays and control systems in substations and transmission facilities. Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll learn to troubleshoot equipment, document test results, and follow rigorous safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities

  • Assist in testing, calibrating and maintaining protective relays and control equipment for substations and transmission systems
  • Support senior technicians in troubleshooting relay and control system issues to ensure safe and reliable power delivery
  • Document test results, maintenance activities and equipment configurations in accordance with utility standards and regulations
  • Follow strict safety procedures, PPE requirements and lockout/tagout practices in energized utility environments
  • Learn and apply electrical protection principles, relay schemes and grid reliability standards through on-the-job training
  • Operate and care for test instruments, tools and vehicles used in field and substation work
  • Collaborate with engineers, system operators and field crews during commissioning, maintenance and outage work
  • Participate in scheduled standby, travel and work in varied weather and field conditions across the service territory
