The State Group is seeking a Senior Accountant based in Evansville, Indiana. This position reports directly to the Regional Controller.

- Prepare, review, and analyze the Work in Progress (WIP) report and work with project managers, division managers, and contract administrators for accurate cost projections.
- Facilitate the completion of monthly sales and costs forecasts for all assigned divisions.
- Compile financial information and prepare journal entries to produce accrual and cash-basis monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Review and post entries as required.
- Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations, recommending corrective entries and performing follow-up.
- Prepare accurate and timely departmental reports with an analysis of the results.
- Analyze transactions and ensure all are entered into the system on a timely basis. Review, follow up, and report on exceptions.
- Maintain reports, spreadsheets, charts, and graphs to assist in the interpretation of operating results.
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, contracts, and vouchers, for accuracy.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Contribute to a team effort with various data entry and miscellaneous assignments and other duties as assigned.
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Experience with financial software and advanced MS Excel experience, including linking documents, working with formulas, and creating pivot tables.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks effectively.
