Are you an experienced Senior Accountant looking for a new challenge? Do you have a passion for numbers and a keen eye for detail? If so, we are seeking a dynamic and driven Permanent Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is specifically designed for an individual with a strong background in the construction industry, specializing in payroll functions. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our finance team, contributing to the financial health and success of our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing all payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Performing month‑end close procedures, including the preparation and posting of journal entries.
  • Handling Union Payroll and ensuring all union‑related financial obligations are met.
  • Performing job costing, tracking project costs, and ensuring accurate allocation of expenses.
  • Managing client billing, preparing invoices, and following up on any discrepancies.
  • Conducting variance analysis to identify and explain any significant variances in financial performance.
  • Reconciling all financial accounts, identifying any discrepancies, and taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes.
  • Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Extensive experience with payroll functions, including Union Payroll.
  • Proficiency in job costing and billing procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of month‑end close procedures and journal entries.
  • Experience in variance analysis and account reconciliation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
