Patient Access Specialist

Description

We are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to join our client's team in Evansville, Indiana. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring efficient patient registration processes while delivering exceptional customer service. This is a long-term contract position ideal for professionals who excel in communication, organization, and handling insurance-related tasks.

Responsibilities:

- Facilitate patient registration by gathering accurate personal and insurance information.

- Provide outstanding customer service, addressing patient inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

- Manage scheduling and appointments, ensuring optimal coordination for clinical visits.

- Handle inbound and outbound calls to assist patients with insurance coverage details, billing, and copay information.

- Maintain detailed documentation of interactions and processes in computer systems.

- Support financial tasks, including deductible calculations and ad hoc reporting.

- Ensure compliance with established protocols and procedures during patient registration.

- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize trial operations and administrative workflows.

- Perform receptionist duties, including greeting patients and managing front desk activities.

- Assist in labeling, paperwork, and clerical tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements - Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare or call center setting.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.

- Proficiency in scheduling and managing appointments using computer systems.

- Familiarity with insurance processes, including deductibles, copays, and medical coverage.

- Ability to perform clerical tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Competence in handling financial documentation and calculations.

- Knowledge of clinical trial operations and adherence to protocols is advantageous.
