located in Evansville, Indiana, is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician
to join our team!
The Automotive Technician provides assistance to Expressway customers with routine maintenance and other vehicle repairs and servicing. As an Automotive Technician, you will have support in the timely completion of jobs, as well as quality service, with hands‑on aid from a Technician Assistant.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Service vehicles in a timely manner for routine scheduled maintenance in accordance with dealer and manufacturer recommendations.
- Assist customers who need repairs for their vehicle by ordering parts, diagnosing problems, performing vehicle operations tests and installing new components.
- Communicate with the supervisor on a regular basis about work performed, necessary changes, new parts needed or any other concerns related to repair or maintenance work on vehicles.
- Keep up with required knowledge and skills in automotive maintenance by attending workshops, seminars or other classes to help ensure the work completed is of the highest quality.
- Maintain a clean working environment on the automotive service floor by putting materials and parts away as work is completed and ensuring the customer’s car is kept neat and orderly throughout the scope of work.
- Follow all safety requirements and local and federal standards when it comes to disposing of hazardous or toxic materials.
- Adhere to best practices when working in the automotive service environment by reporting any accidents or incidents to management as soon as possible.
- Requires being at work on time and have satisfactory attendance.
- Other tasks may be required as needed.
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting – Ability to troubleshoot problems and diagnose solutions.
- Directs work – Ability to direct work to others, providing clear direction and accountabilities, while prioritizing to meet commitments.
- Attention to detail – Ability to recognize small, sometimes overlooked details to ensure completeness of the job and to grow knowledge and skill level.
- Communication skills – Ability to effectively communicate with all those who come in contact, customers, peers, supervisors, etc., to understand and convey information.
- High school diploma or GED;
Additional education preferred.
- Must maintain industry required courses and certifications; ASE Certification preferred.
- 2 years of experience working in the automotive servicing/ parts industry.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, with a driving record clear of major violation.
WORK ENVIROMENT- Primarily active, requiring lots of physical movement such as standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, walking, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Largely sedentary role, with filing required.
- Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
