Theology Teacher; Mater Dei High School

Position: Theology Teacher (Mater Dei High School)
Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and passionate part-time Theology teacher to join our talented faculty. This position will teach one to two sections of freshman and sophomore Theology. The teacher will follow the lead Theology teacher's curriculum and pacing to ensure consistency and equitable instruction for all students. This candidate must be a professed and practicing Roman Catholic. Teaching experience is preferred.

Should the position become a full time position, this individual must have a willingness to to pursue a Masters of Catholic Teaching.

Teacher Responsibilities:

* Preparing lesson plans, assessments and instructional materials aligned with the established curriculum, as well as fulfilling other duties as assigned by the administration.

* Utilizing multiple and appropriate learning strategies within the classroom.

* Engaging students in active learning.

* Actively monitoring during the lesson to assess student understanding of skill/content.

* Effectively integrating student assessment and data to impact daily instruction.

* Implementing classroom rules and behavioral expectations that are consistent with the school's philosophy.

* Creating a Christ-centered learning community in which individual differences are respected.

* Establishing respectful, productive, and cooperative relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.

Required Skills:

* Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Indiana Teaching License.

* Safe Environment Training and Background Check required.

* Desire and ability to work and relate to young people in a Catholic high school setting.

* Able to be a good role model and example of Christian living to the young people of Mater Dei High School and its affiliated communities of youth on a daily basis.
