Renew Christian Church is looking for a passionate, outgoing, and driven leader to join our team as our Family Ministry Pastor. This full-time role focuses on leading ministries for kids, youth, and college-aged students, partnering with parents, and building teams that create weekly ministries and special events that lead families to know Jesus, grow in faith, and live as part of God's mission in our church!

General

Description

The Family Ministry Pastor serves as a part of the staff at Renew and works in collaboration with staff and elders to advance the ministry goals, values, and vision of Renew. The role is responsible for oversight, execution, and advancement of Family Ministry at Renew (birth through college) and aligning that work with the greater vision of the staff and elders.

Family Ministry includes Kids (birth through grade five), Revive (middle and high school youth), College, and their families.

Family Ministry Responsibilities Weekly Ministry Oversight

Provide weekly Bible-based, developmentally appropriate environments where children, youth, and college-aged students can learn about Jesus, grow in faith and relationships, and invite others.

  • Kids Church (birth through grade five) during Sunday morning worship services
  • Revive AM (middle and high school youth) during Sunday morning worship services
  • Revive PM (Middle and high school youth) Sunday evening programming
  • College Small Groups throughout the week
Additional Ministry Oversight

In addition to Weekly Ministry Oversight, the Family Ministry Pastor will plan and lead special events and activities to support the goals of the Family Ministry Department. These additional include, but are not limited to:

  • Monthly Special Events that take place outside the regular, Weekly Ministries in order to engage families on a more personal level. Each quarter, there will be three monthly Special Events (one for Kids, one for Youth, and one for Families)
  • Vacation Bible School (a three-night-long program and a special Sunday service)
  • Annual Youth Retreat and Camps
  • Graduation Sunday
  • Parent Dedication Class and in-service recognition
  • Salvation and Baptism Class
General Renew Staff Responsibilities

The Family Ministry Pastor will serve alongside staff and elders of Renew to advance our vision, core values, and goals. For more information about Renew’s vision, visit

Support the vision, core values, and goals of Renew by participating in weekend worship services, staff meetings, special services, events, retreats, leadership development, and all church initiatives.

Support a young, innovative, fast-paced church with a "team-player attitude" and a willingness to do "whatever it takes."

Share pastoral and shepherding responsibilities by providing pastoral care, prayer, and discipleship. This includes home and hospital visitation, funerals, weddings, and bereavement.

Adhere to Renew policies, procedures, and guidelines (such as spending, reporting, and safety).

Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

This role requires a strong Christian faith and lifestyle, as the Family Ministry Pastor will be in a position of spiritual leadership and influence. The person must follow Renew’s Staff Covenant, align with Renew’s Statement of Beliefs, and may need to complete a Theological Alignment Questionnaire.

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • People-oriented and excited to build new relationships
  • Excellent communicators (written and verbal)
  • Excited to learn and grow personally and professionally
  • Proficient in basic computer skills

Experience, education, or background in areas related to Family Ministry is a plus.

Ability to set up for events, move supplies, clean/organize, and engage socially in an active ministry setting will occur while performing the duties of this job.

This is a full-time position with weekend and evening expectations.

Travel for training, conferences, camps, retreats, or other events may be required. No additional travel is anticipated.
