Primary Function

To develop and implement an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete.

Qualifications

Prior coaching experience preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performance Responsibilities
  • To ensure full compliance with all school and school board policies and regulations.
  • To work cooperatively with the entire staff.
  • To relate positively to parents and other community representatives.
  • To demonstrate professional growth.
  • To ensure the timely and accurate completion of all required records and reports.
  • To demonstrate proficiency in standard English, both spoken and written.
  • To accept and fulfill responsibilities beyond the team setting as they pertain to school expectations.
  • To assume responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities.
  • To ensure a clean, orderly, and safe environment that supports the well‑being of all student athletes.
Instructional Performance Interpersonal Relations
  • To foster and model positive interactions among student‑athletes while building supportive relationships with the school and community.
  • To demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning.
  • To promote self‑direction and self‑motivation in students, empowering them to take responsibility for their learning, growth, and success.
  • To create clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance.
Subject Matter
  • To exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the sport or area being coached, ensuring effective instruction and guidance for student athletes.
  • To effectively adapt instruction of strategy and fundamentals to align with the individual needs, abilities, and interests of student‑athletes.
Planning/Materials
  • To develop and sustain an organized athletic program guided by well‑structured, long‑term planning.
  • To demonstrate effective planning and organization while employing a diverse range of appropriate strategies and resources to enhance student athlete development.
Techniques/Delivery
  • To clearly convey fundamental coaching expectations to student athletes and explain their significance for personal, athletic, and academic growth.
  • To utilize appropriate and varied coaching techniques and learning activities.
  • To maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and to inform appropriate persons.
