RetirementAs a contract teacher, this position will automatically be enrolled in the Teacher Retirement Fund (TRF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). In addition, this position is eligible to enroll in a 401(a) retirement investment plan, a 403(b) Match Program, and a tax-free post-retirement medical expense account (VEBA).

Employees enrolled in an EVSC medical insurance plan are eligible to use our Health & Wellness Centers conveniently located within the community. These are no-cost health clinics that provide primary care treatment, generic prescription medications (at no cost), physicals, health screenings, and labs. Accumulated sick leave days and personal business days will be provided under this position as well. Additionally, EVSC employees have access to EVSC Wee Care, our employee-only early learning centers.
Wee Care provides a quality early learning experience for children as young as six weeks through age five.
Provides instructional leadership in curriculum planning and implementation, staff development, and technology advancement. Manages the day-to-day activities of the students and staff.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther duties may be assigned.
- Assumes instructional leadership of the total school program and manages building personnel.
- Interacts with students to encourage each individual to perform at his or her highest level of ability and creates an atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Ensures that teachers follow corporation-approved curriculum.
- Stays abreast of current research in elementary education.
- Assigns teachers to classrooms and students to classes.
- Resolves problems and provides support to staff members.
- Ensures supervision of students at all school events before, during, and after the school day.
- Ensures a safe, pleasant, and effective educational climate.
- Evaluates performance of teachers, other staff, and programs.
- Encourages staff attendance at corporation-sponsored in-services.
- Develops and implements, in collaboration with curriculum area supervisors, realistic plans and programs to ensure professional growth of the instructional staff.
- Prepares the school budget, works with the budget manager on budgeting and purchasing, and establishes priorities for the purchase of educational materials to meet the needs of students and teachers.
