Adjunct Faculty – Psychology

Ivy Tech Evansville seeks qualified adjunct faculty to supplement the Psychology instruction needs of our students at the Evansville, IN campus. The adjunct faculty member will create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

• Program operation: perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes; provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught, maintain student attendance and grading records, and submit requested information within established timelines.
• Student support: be available outside scheduled class time to answer questions and provide assistance, deal with student concerns, and consult with program coordinator to resolve issues when necessary.
• Instruction: meet all scheduled classes of contracted courses, use technology such as Blackboard, Canva, PowerPoint, etc., and notify program/department chair in event of emergency absence. Conduct all activities with respect for diversity of people, styles, and views, promoting an inclusive environment.
• Perform any other duties associated with the position as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in psychology or a related specialty (psychological sciences, educational psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social psychology, etc.).
• Alternatively, a master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in psychology‑related courses, including a course in statistics and/or research methodology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as faculty in higher education.
• Previous clinical or applied psychology experience.

Hiring Range: $45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,160 per 8‑week course).

Work Hours:

the role begins in August for the fall term, with classes typically starting at the beginning of semesters or the midpoint:
January, March, August, or October. Specific hours will depend on classes assigned but may include evenings.
