In response to the growing Latino student population at Ivy Tech Community College of Evansville, we are seeking bilingual instructors of Latino heritage to provide better representation to our student population. Each semester we have needs in different academic areas which we cover through adjunct or part-time faculty. These needs vary from semester to semester. This job offer is intended for those interested in adjunct instruction opportunities without necessarily having a specific open position at this time. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary part-time positions hired as needed each semester. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that helps students achieve their goals and for providing effective instruction and evaluations within the framework of the common study programs provided by the school.
Main Responsibilities:Candidates considered for adjunct positions under this application must be able to provide in-person instruction at the Evansville, IN campus and be able to perform the functions outlined below:
Program Management Responsibilities:- Perform all necessary instructional duties to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
- Provide an appropriate curriculum for the course being taught and follow the content and requirements of the curriculum.
- Maintain student attendance and grade records.
- Submit requested information within established deadlines.
- Be available to students outside of scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
- Address student concerns and, if necessary, consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues.
- Meet all class requirements stipulated in the courses for which you have been hired. Use technology such as the LMS system, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
- In case of emergency absence, notify the program/department coordinator.
- Conduct all activities with appreciation and respect for the cultural diversity, styles, and viewpoints of each person. Promote this same diversity as an integral part of the work.
- Instruction is generally conducted in English, but there may be opportunities for advising with Spanish-speaking students.

Hiring Range:- $45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,160 per 8-week course)
- Adjunct faculty positions typically start at the beginning of the quarters, with five quarters per year. Specific schedules will depend on the classes assigned, which may include evenings.

Minimum Required Qualifications:- Education and/or appropriate credential for the field of study. Most positions require at least a bachelor's degree or a master's degree from an accredited institution.
- Must have a solid practical knowledge of current technologies appropriate for the area of instruction.
- Must be located to teach in-person at the Evansville, IN campus.
- Previous teaching experience in higher education.
