Position Overview
Ivy Tech Evansville seeks qualified adjunct faculty to supplement the Anatomy and Physiology instruction needs of our students at the Evansville, IN campus. This person teaches students who may go on to have careers as a chiropractor, nurse, physician’s assistant, or occupational therapist. Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part‑time positions hired each semester on an as‑needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.
Responsibilities- Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
- Provide a syllabus appropriate to the course(s) being taught following syllabus content and requirements.
- Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
- Submit requested information within established timelines.
- Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and provide assistance.
- Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues.
- Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
- Use technology such as Blackboard, Canva, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
- Notify the program/department chair in the event of emergency absence.
- Conduct all activities with appreciation and respect for diversity and promote it as an integral part of one's work.
- Other duties to be assigned.
Hiring Range: $45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,160 per 8‑week course). Work hours will depend on assigned classes and may include evenings. The role starts in August and runs during the fall term, with typical start dates in January, March, August, or October.
Qualifications- Minimum:
Master’s degree, or higher, in a biological science. - Preferred:
Experience providing instruction at a post‑secondary institute.
