College Connection Coach

If encouraging high school students to go to college is something you want to do, we have the job for you. Ivy Tech is looking for a College Connection Coach to work with the Vanderburgh County schools. The primary goal of the College Connection Coach is to establish relationships with high school students in order to encourage and assist students toward enrollment in college and persistence toward degree completion.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit high school juniors, seniors, or graduates who are college-bound.
  • Provide one‑on‑one coaching supporting college attainment and career exploration, complementing services available through high school, college, or the community.
  • Utilize community resources to support student access and success in college.
  • Develop and convene regularly scheduled small group sessions throughout the academic year, including informal group check‑ins and workshops on navigating the college environment, accessing resources, and building peer support networks.
  • Enroll students in dual credit courses and input SAT/ACT scores, GPA, and other required data.
  • Provide support for employer partnerships, student transition from high school to college to work, and student career workshops, which may include on‑campus activities, tours, industry visits, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Develop and deliver annual orientation for new student participants and a summer series of college preparation and team‑building workshops.
  • Maintain accurate records, regularly update student contact information, academic progress, and complete required case notes.
  • Produce required reports, track outcomes, evaluate services, and contribute to program development with the postsecondary team and the EVSC.
  • Stay current with Ivy Tech programs, admission and registration processes, career and higher education trends, and Indiana Department of Education requirements.
  • Attend Ivy Tech meetings, training sessions, and related activities as necessary.
Work Hours

Flexibility required with some evening and Saturday duties.

Salary

$35,000–$45,000 annually based on experience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of related experience in advising, career counseling, recruiting, or other student service roles.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to initiate and balance multiple work projects.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in K‑12 or college‑level settings.
  • Training or teaching experience with young adults.
