Position Details
Position Title: Middle/High School Based Tutor
Reports to: Academic Development Coordinator
Job Type/Classification: Seasonal/Part-Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt
Salary: $20-25/hr, depending on education and experience
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays 2:30-5pm;
September-May
The School Based Tutor will join our Academic Development team to help provide academic support to our students. The ideal candidate will ensure that students make significant growth in meeting or exceeding grade-level standards and expectations for reading and mathematics. Tutors must be able to motivate and maintain the students interest while setting a positive example in all areas, including timeliness, attendance, and professionalism.
Responsibilities- Implement reading and math interventions in one-on-one or small group settings with students who need additional academic support.
- Provide academic support in core subjects through homework help and tutoring.
- Document student supports that are implemented.
- Periodically administer assessments and progress monitoring with students to formally track student achievement.
The School Based Tutor will provide academic support to Dream Center students after school at North Jr./North High.
