Saint Wendel is searching for a student interventionist for the school year in 2nd grade. The primary responsibilities would be:
-Provide individualized (1:1) support throughout the school day based on the student’s specific learning and behavioral needs
-Implement teacher-directed instruction and adapt materials to support student understanding
-Support the student in maintaining focus, completing tasks, and engaging appropriately in classroom activities
-Carry out individualized intervention plans, accommodations, and behavior support strategies
-Collect and document data on student progress, behavior, and skill development
-Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, intervention staff, administration, and specialists to ensure consistency of support
-Assist the student with transitions, organization, and daily routines
-Foster social skills and positive peer interactions
-Maintain clear, respectful communication with school staff and families as directed
-Promote the student’s independence while providing appropriate levels of support
-Model patience, compassion, and Christian values in all interactions
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field preferred (associate’s degree or relevant experience considered);
Experience working with children with academic, behavioral, or developmental needs
