As a Mechanical Project Coordinator at Frontier-Kemper, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical projects while ensuring all work aligns with technical specifications, project budgets, schedules, and established quality standards. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully and meet or exceed client expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate mechanical projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring adherence to project design specifications and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including mechanical and electrical designers, contractors and project managers, to develop project plans and budgets.
- Conduct site assessments to determine project feasibility, gather technical requirements, foster client relationships and perform QA/QC checks throughout the entire process.
- Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of proprietary system designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Ensure projects meet specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Analyze project requirements and develop detailed plans to present to the customer.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, resources and budgets for hoist‑related projects.
- Work with design teams to ensure engineering plans meet technical requirements and regulatory standards, while being workable in the field for installation.
- Coordinate with customers, contractors, suppliers and regulatory authorities to facilitate project execution.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures throughout project phases that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on project progress to FKC Lake Shore Management, the customer and all downstream workflows, identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure adherence to mechanical codes and standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
- Stay updated on the latest engineering technologies and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in mechanical project coordination.
- 3+ years of experience with mechanical hoisting equipment design and operation.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, systems and components.
- Proficiency in project management software and mechanical design tools.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams.
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on delivering high‑quality mechanical projects.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and the ability to make decisions in dynamic project environments.
- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in using CAD (Computer‑Aided Design) software.
- Awareness of mining industry‑specific codes and regulations throughout multiple countries.
- Proficiency in project design and planning, management, costing and documentation.
- Ability to work individually with minimal supervision.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
