Job DescriptionAlterations Customer Service Representative (CSR)
The Alterations CSR is responsible for providing an A+ customer experience to David’s Bridal customers and reporting to the Store Manager. The role includes welcoming customers, managing appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and ensuring items are ready for pickups.
Responsibilities- Welcome all customers with genuine enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person, using excellent phone skills and resolving conflicts.
- Use all systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five‑star customer experience.
- Meet service vows including Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There for all customers, performing all operational tasks and meeting emotional and practical needs.
- Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers simultaneously and contribute to the store’s Five‑Star Customer Service achievement.
- Proactively address customer concerns with confidence, escalating when necessary and partnering with leadership.
- Communicate how alterations can enhance a dress for the customer’s event.
- Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
- Maintain store‑standards: cleanliness, organization, promotional readiness, and store recovery.
- Maintain high dress code standards as required by the Dress Code policy.
- Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
- Press, steam, and spot clean all merchandise.
- Follow quality‑control guidelines and inspect all garments before final delivery.
- Build long‑term relationships to exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick‑ups, and first‑quality standards for all merchandise.
- Support cash wrap behaviors and process transactions accurately.
- Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager to resolve issues the CSR cannot resolve.
- Maintain a clean and well‑organized alterations room.
- Perform duties and tasks assigned by store management.
- Occasionally stand, walk, sit, and use hands and arms to reach for tools; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; bend, twist, and lift up to 10 pounds.
- Perform manual tasks such as using POS terminals, counting money, steaming garments, and using computers and phones for extended periods.
- Have adequate vision for close and distant tasks, including reading and using electronic devices.
- High school diploma or equivalent degree.
- 1–2 years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store.
- Prior sewing experience is helpful.
- Experience with computerized POS systems.
