Job Summary
The Wire Services Specialist III is responsible for processing, verifying, and servicing domestic and international wire transfers while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and bank policies. This role serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for wire operations, handling complex transactions, investigations, and exception processing. The Wire Specialist III provides guidance, training, and mentorship to team members, supports operational excellence initiatives, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional client service, mitigate risk, and drive continuous process improvement.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $18.25/Hr.
- $29.75/Hr. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, qualifications and the career level at which the position is filled.
Key Accountabilities
Operational Excellence
- Process, verify, and release domestic and international wire transfers accurately and within established service standards.
- Research, review, and process complex domestic and international wire transactions.
- Investigate and resolve wire exceptions, repairs, rejects, recalls, inquiries, indemnity requests, and payment investigations promptly and accurately.
- Administer and support Secure Caller PIN authentication processes, including setup, maintenance, verification, and issue resolution, while ensuring adherence to security protocols.
- Monitor wire activity through the Federal Reserve Fedwire System, SWIFT network, and correspondent bank relationships.
- Ensure compliance with Regulation E requirements for International Consumer Remittance Transfers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on wire processing systems, procedures, controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, mitigate risk, and improve client experience.
- Review wire activity for suspicious transactions and escalate potential fraud, compliance, or security concerns as appropriate.
- Assist management in identifying operational risks, control gaps, and continuous improvement opportunities to strengthen wire operations and mitigate risk.
- Comply with departmental policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer confidentiality standards.
Client Centric Approach

- Partner closely with banking centers, Treasury Management, Commercial Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Fraud, Compliance, and other business lines to resolve exceptions and support payment-related needs.
- Act as an escalation point for complex client and operational issues requiring advanced wire expertise.
Mentoring & Training
- Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for Wire Services associates by providing guidance on systems, procedures, regulations, and best practices.
- Assist with onboarding and training new associates to ensure operational readiness and adherence to departmental standards.
- Support cross-training initiatives to improve team flexibility, knowledge sharing, and business continuity.
