Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist

We have a tremendous opportunity for a commercial loan documentation specialist with a large regional bank in Southern Indiana. This is a great time to join this bank as they are upgrading their infrastructure to handle expected loan growth.

Essential Functions

The incumbent will administer processes required to support the creation, closing and review of loan documentation and perfection of collateral for the Commercial Loan portfolio.

Specific responsibilities include:

Administer processes for transmittal, review, retention and monitoring of loan documents in the commercial lending portfolio, including, but not limited to:
- Review and understand commercial loan terms, conditions and financial components as detailed in credit approval documents. Identify potential problems and solutions.
- Provide guidance to business partners and coworkers as necessary.
- Review Processor tab of Commercial Documentation Checklist to ensure a complete loan file.
- Create loan document package for assigned loans that comply with the approved terms and conditions. Documentation may include, but is not limited to, notes, security agreements/mortgages, guarantees, assignments, stock powers, account holds, UCC filings and subordination agreements, closing instructions, and other supporting documents.
- Complete Commercial Documentation Checklist to ensure accuracy of loan documents.
- Demonstrate a level of expertise with loan documentation language and interact with loan officers to review potential concerns and/or necessary edits.
- Submit accurate loan closing packages to Lending Quality Assurance for final review in a timely manner to ensure closing date commitments are met.
Set up UCC filings in iLien as needed per credit approval.
Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Bank policies, procedures, and compliance requirements along with in-depth knowledge of all forms of commercial loan documentation and closing requirements.
Upload supporting loan documentation to Sageworks during documentation process, as needed.
May document more complex loan requests and/or project work and serve as a resource to less experienced loan documentation specialists.

Here is what our client requires:

Minimum of 3 years of loan documentation and closing experience with a focus on standard real estate and commercial transactions.
High School Diploma – Associate degree preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of flood procedures and flood insurance.

Ability to assess and establish a clear understanding of structures related formation documents to ensure appropriate permissions and approval authorities are in place.
Ability to communicate professionally in person, in writing, and over the telephone.
Ability to review and analyze title documents to determine and/or confirm the Bank’s lien position in accordance with loan approval criteria.

Experience with Laser Pro, Fiserv, Abrigo/Sageworks preferred
