Evansville State Hospital is one of the Indiana State Psychiatric Hospitals who are committed to the mission of Hope and Recovery. Residing on 88 acres on the east side of Evansville, Ind., our facility provides medical treatment for chronic mental illness and substance abuse disorders from our dedicated team of psychiatrists and advanced practice professionals. Active Treatment helps our patients achieve their goals directed towards living in the most non-restrictive environment possible.

Our team of professionals assist our patients in the treatment process involving medical staff, nursing, psychology, social work, rehabilitation therapy and our community integration program. Evansville State Hospital continues to maintain accreditation through The Joint Commission as an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital as well as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services certification as a Psychiatric Medicare/Medicaid Hospital.

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $94,718.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

• Administers initial and annual psychological assessments for all patients to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Performs psychological testing, scoring, interpretation, and written reports to inform clinical decision-making.

• Participates in clinical treatment meetings to contribute psychological expertise to interdisciplinary care.
• Provides recommendations for specialized psychological evaluation and treatment according to the goals outlined in the master treatment plan to align care with patient needs.
• Ensures patient involvement and participation in treatment planning and implementation to promote engagement and recovery.

• Provides evidence-based, recovery-oriented therapeutic interventions to patients in individual and/or group format to address mental health needs.
• Maintains a therapeutic alliance with the patient and family/caregivers and facilitate family therapy to strengthen support systems.
• Provides evidence-based therapeutic and psycho educational interventions for campus-wide active treatment groups to promote shared learning and recovery.

• Completes documentation of all aspects of patient contact per facility, departmental, and HIPAA guidelines to ensure compliance and continuity of care.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
