Payroll Supervisor

Position Summary

The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. This role supervises payroll staff, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and supports continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems.

• Supervise and mentor payroll team members to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing
• Oversee bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or weekly payroll processing for multi-state employees
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and tax regulations
• Review and validate payroll reports, audits, deductions, garnishments, and benefit with holdings
• Coordinate payroll tax filings and year-end processes (W-2s, 1099s, etc.)
• Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee data, benefits deductions, and reporting
• Resolve complex payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
• Maintain and improve payroll procedures, controls, and documentation
• Support payroll system upgrades, implementations, and process improvements
• Prepare payroll-related reports for leadership and audits

• 3–5+ years of payroll experience, including supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and tax compliance
• Experience with payroll systems (ADP, UKG, SAP, Paycom, etc.)
• Advanced Excel skills
